Coil in Coil by Matt Royal is the summit of the luxury line, handmade in Greece. Its secret is the double spring system: each spring holds a second, smaller-coiled spring inside it, so resilience works on two successive levels whose feel changes with the pressure at each point. The result is a mattress that adapts to your body weight instead of imposing a single feel on it.

Key Features

  • Coil in coil system: resilience on two levels that adapts to body weight and to the pressure at each point
  • High spring density: over 1,430 springs per square metre for precise weight distribution
  • Nova Latex layer: high resilience and fast recovery after every movement
  • Bio Massage layer: a wave-profiled surface that helps air move between the layers
  • Double-sided: the mattress can be flipped to spread wear and extend its service life
  • Greek handcraft: handmade in Matt Royal’s own facilities in Greece

Mattress Layers

Layer construction of the Matt Royal Coil in Coil mattress

Layer 1: Knitted Cover Fabric

A knitted fabric with quilted padding, giving a soft yet firm surface.

Layer 2: Natural Cotton

A cotton layer acting as an air channel directly beneath the fabric, helping release heat and moisture.

Layer 3: Bio Massage

A layer with a wave-profiled surface that feels gentle against the body and helps air move between the layers.

Layer 4: Nova Latex

A highly elastic latex layer that adapts to the contours of the body then returns to shape immediately after every movement, relieving pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Layer 5: Coil in Coil Spring Core

The distinctive heart of the mattress: each spring holds a second spring with smaller coils inside it. Under light pressure the outer spring responds alone and the feel is resilient; under greater pressure the inner spring comes into play and support increases. The strength of support therefore changes from point to point according to the weight of each part of the body.

Layer 6: Edges and Base

Perimeter foam supports the sides of the mattress and prevents edge collapse, with a stabilising film that keeps the frame firmly in shape.

Warranty and Returns

  • Warranty: 15 years, covering the springs, the metal frame, the filling materials and the upholstery. Contact us for full coverage details.
  • Returns and exchange: return within 3 days of delivery in original condition (packaging unopened), and immediate direct replacement should any manufacturing defect appear.
  • Not covered: damage caused by misuse, placing the mattress on an uneven base or unsuitable slats, folding it, or exposing it to moisture and stains.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does coil in coil mean and what is it for?

Each pocket spring contains a second, smaller spring inside it. The outer spring responds to light pressure and gives resilience; the inner one comes into play under greater pressure and gives additional support. The result is a mattress that behaves differently under a light shoulder and a heavier hip at the same time.

Why is the spring count quoted for the 160×200 size?

Because the number of springs changes with the size. We quote the count at one reference size so the comparison is fair; the count rises with larger sizes, at a density of more than 1,430 springs per square metre.

Does the mattress reduce partner disturbance?

Yes, to a high degree. The high density of independent springs means each one moves on its own, so very little vibration travels across to the other side.

Can I try the mattress before buying?

Yes. We provide a dedicated space in our showroom where you can try the mattress in quiet and complete privacy.

What size suits a master bedroom?

The most requested sizes for master bedrooms are 180×200 and 200×200. To measure correctly, measure the inside of the bed frame rather than your old mattress. Browse the rest of the options in the mattress collection.

Manufacturing Standards

Matt Royal’s factories in Greece operate to accredited standards including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and OEKO-TEX for textile safety, alongside UKAS test reports.

We are proud to be the chosen supplier for a select group of hotels, resorts and luxury residential projects across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

Product Care

  • Use a liquid-resistant mattress protector to preserve the materials.
  • Flip the mattress and reverse its head-to-foot orientation every 3 months.
  • Use a flat bed base with suitable slats; an uneven base causes localised sagging that the warranty does not cover.
  • Do not fold the mattress, expose it to high humidity, or iron it.
